This grade 3 music theory course covers the topics set out in the Trinity College London syllabus.
This is a 3rd level exam/course and is ideal if you have recently studied for your Grade 2 Music Theory exam.

The exam consists of:
- Compound time signatures of 6/8, 9/8 and 12/8 and the grouping of notes within them
- The semiquaver/16th note and rest, dotted quavers (8th notes) and triplets
- Transposition of a melody from treble to bass clef (or vice versa) at the octave
- Scales and key signatures in all major and minor keys up to two flats/sharps
- Major, minor harmonic and minor melodic (Aeolian) scales
- Tonic and dominant triads in the keys for this grade, and their first and second inversions
- SATB chords
- Perfect cadences
- Transposition between clefs
