Course Summary

This grade 4 music theory course covers the topics set out in the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) syllabus.
This is an intermediate exam/course and is ideal if you have recently passed Grade 3 Music Theory.

Practice exercises are provided, and it is recommended that you work through as many as you can.
It is also important to listen to all the musical examples, including your own answers to the exercises.

Step-by-step guidance making tricky concepts clear.
Accessible and practical, this course will open the door for you to more in-depth study of music theory.

This course will give you a thorough preparation in all exam topics, including:
→ double sharps/flats and enharmonics
→ the alto clef
→ complex time signatures, duplets and the breve
→ orchestral instruments
→ chromatic scales
→ augmented and diminished intervals
→ dominant and subdominant triads
