You should already have passed (or are expecting to pass after recently taking) ABRSM or Trinity Grade 5 Music Theory before joining this course.

After following the course, the ABRSM Grade 6 exam should be booked on the ABRSM website: www.abrsm.org

The exam consists of:
- Harmonising a given melody
- Realising a figured bass in chorale style
- Composing an 8-bar melody for a solo instrument
- General theory questions based on a score for a keyboard instrument or small ensemble
- General theory questions based on a score for a larger ensemble such as an orchestra

I am really enjoying your course, though it is a massive jump from grade 5 which I found very straight forward. I’m really pleased I opted for the marking to be done otherwise I wouldn’t have a clue! Your marking is extremely thorough and very helpful. I intended doing grade 6 years ago but without a teacher who specialises in theory I found it impossible.
